of ground yet is easy to administer, taking most clients around five minutes to complete. It claims to be comprehensive and succeeds in many ways. How¬ever, some areas are not covered (for example, self-perception of speaking ability, confidence levels) and also some subscales are covered rather sparsely; but surely no profile that can be administered in such a short space of time could be truly comprehensive. In this respect it differs from OASES which is more thorough (containing 95 questions on affective, cognitive matters, as opposed to WASSP’s 17), but takes longer to complete. WASSP has been standardized, albeit on a relatively small group. It is a useful clinical tool and again, like OASES, it elicits a more sensitive data set than can be derived from the binary responses elicited by the S-24, which takes roughly the same time to administer. (See Ward, 2002 for a review of the WASSP questionnaire.)
